Apparently, I'm developing a 'thing' for Sephiroth/Zack. The next chapter of A-R-T should be up sometime before the end of the weekend, along with the sequel to 'Cold' and 'Warm', and a completely self-indulgent Genesis/Reno.

Zack isn't sure whether that's a rhetorical question or not, but it doesn't matter because his voice isn't working at this point anyway.

"Cloud's-- please tell me this is not a euphemism for Private Strife's anus."

"Er," Zack offers, and he swears his face is going to burst into flames at any second. "G-general Sephiroth, sir, I can explain."

Sephiroth sets the stack of papers aside and looks at him. "Then please, do explain, especially since I seem to have a starring role in your-- novel."

Zack winces and bites his lip. "Uhm, I lost a bet?"
